THE LORD

WHO SEES ME!

- Jeevan Babu Olesu

She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” - Genesis 16:10

Are you tired of this life?  Do you think that you have no future hope? Are you jobless? Are there problems in your life that you can't even tell to your parents, family, and friends? Are you mistreated by someone? Do you want to run away from your house because of fear of debts? My friend, today's message is for you. You will know the Lord who sees you and knows everything you are going through in this life as you read this message. God's eyes are wide open today to see all of your hurts, and to see your prayers be answered. We have a God who listens to our prayers (Psalm 65:2). Our dear Lord is looking into our hearts and He will grant us all our desires according to His will.

My friend, we read about a woman named Hagar in Genesis 16.  She gave God a beautiful name. She said, "You are the God who sees me and I have seen the One who sees me" (16:13). Do you know that we serve the Lord who sees us? You may be thinking, " I have no friends and no one who sees me." But God who created you sees you and knows what

kind of situation you are going through. Hagar was afraid and fled from her mistress who was mistreating her. At that time the angel of the Lord came searching for her. The angel asked her, "Hagar, where have you come from? Where are you going?" (16:7,8). God knew where Hagar had come from, but He wanted her to answer Him honestly. She told the angel that she was running from her mistress. God knows where you are going and where you are coming from. He doesn't need someone to tell Him about you. He knows every detail of your life, just as He knew for Hagar. The Holy Bible says, "For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and He examines all your paths" (Prov. 5:21). You may think that nobody notices you, but the Lord sees you and your path fully. By saying "examines" it means the Lord is not glancing, He is studying fully and carefully. He is taking note of even the tiny details of our path. People always see the outward appearance, but the Lord always looks into our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7).

When people cry out to the Lord, He always hears their cries. Psalm 102:17 says,  "He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their plea." He wants to help the people who plead to Him. He is so gracious and loving. He wants to hear your prayers, and answer according to His Will. Hagar was so mistreated and worried about her life. She had no one to run to and talk with about what she was going through. Then she was running away from the place where she was living. She didn't know where she was going. However, the angel of the Lord stopped her and questioned her. The angel of the Lord asked her to go back to her mistress and told her how God would bless her by saying, "I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count" (16:9,10). The Lord is someone who blesses the people and honors those who are mistreated, facing insults and shame, and He honors them in the place where they were insulted. Take heart and cheer up. God sees you. He wants to talk to you just like He talked to Hagar. In your life the problems of the world seem to crush you.  Some people feel the weight to be unbearable and try to escape by ending their lives. However, how good it is to know that the Lord who sees us is always there watching over our paths and listening to our pleas.

Don't be afraid about anything, but stand firm. Just as Hagar recognized God as the One who sees us, we may also turn to Him and also say to Him, "Lord, You are the One who sees me." He is able to do mighty things beyond what we ask or imagine. Today is the day for you to get an answer from the Lord. Ask Him. He is ready to meet your needs no matter how big your problems seem. He is a big God. May you also turn to Him, experience how He is there watching over you, and  give him the same beautiful name Hagar did of "the One who sees me."

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You, Lord, that You are the One who sees us. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Please give us understanding that You are always there for us. Help us to turn to You always. Amen.
