"There is a way that seems right to a person, but eventually it ends in death." Proverbs 14:12

Everyone has many choices in their lives. Making the right choice is very important. Sometimes we feel sad that we have made wrong choices in the past and have faced consequences or even hardships from those choices. From the beginning God gave mankind choices and freedom. This means that God gave us freedom, because He chose to. He did not want us to be His slaves, and He wants us to choose Him and to follow what He says. He sees us as His own children since He created us in His own image and likeness. There are so many beautiful plants, trees, and animals, but only man was created in the image of God. Even angels do not have the privilege of being in His image. He knew that we would make mistakes and choose incorrectly, but He wanted us to have the freedom of choice. He put choices in front of us: blessings in following His directions and curses for breaking His instructions (Deuteronomy 30:19; Jeremiah 21:8).
The above verse explains that for us sometimes a path looks very good. It looks bright and promising. It looks tempting and beautiful. However, God warns us that these paths may be enticing and yet lead to death. Since the beginning when Adam and Eve were given a choice, instead of seeking God's heart and His wisdom people follow their own hearts and desires. This is what sin is-choosing our way instead of God's way. Many times throughout the Bible God warns us that the punishment for sin, choosing our own path, is death. People want to choose different paths to heave. They want to follow their own dreams and still believe they will get to go to Heaven. However, God has made it clear that He has allowed only one path-the path through the cross of Calvary and His Son Jesus Christ. In India, I know there are more than 33,0000 "gods" that people follow. Many people believe if they do this or that or don't do this or that they can go to heaven. However, God has made it clear that even if we live a "good" life our goodness is only like filthy rags. The Bible explains that we may think a path seems right. It seems right to lead a good life and help people. It seems right to do this or that. But the Bible explains that any path apart from Christ leads to death. This means to eternal death in Hell. Jesus Christ said in John 14:6, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This means there is only one way, only one path, only one right choice according to God and His Word, the Bible. Acts 4:12 says, "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." The choice is still ours. God loves the world so much that He sent His Son to show us the way to Heaven (John 3:16). We get to choose if we will believe, accept, and follow after Him. God does not force us, He invites us. He is still calling us to make the right choice. We can only make this choice as long as we have life. When this life is over, the window to choose closes and we can no longer make a decision. Please, search your hearts and make the right choice. Choose God who loves you and sacrificed Himself to provide a path to Him in Heaven. Hell is a horrible place. God does not desire anyone to go there. Hell is a permanent destination, just like Heaven. Heaven will be full of joy and the holy presence of God; Hell will be full of suffering and pain forever and ever.
